High bid $652.00

Status: Sold

Chinese camphor wood trunk, notable for its generous proportions and the distinct, aromatic fragrance that characterizes camphor. Dated to have been appraised in 1981 for $600, this piece has since become an even more valuable collectible. The trunk exhibits a rich patina that only time can bestow, highlighting the warm, natural grain of the camphor wood. The corners are reinforced with attractively patinated metal brackets, providing both aesthetic charm and structural integrity. It features a flush-mounted metal handle and a lock, suggestive of its utilitarian purpose as a secure storage vessel. Inside, the trunk is spacious and clean, suggesting it has been well-preserved and cared for over the years. The bottom is reinforced, ensuring its durability and readiness to serve as both a functional storage piece and a decorative accent in any room.
