This lot features a historically significant Chinese rug runner, originally part of a larger carpet that adorned the residence of Aunty Liliiokalani Kawananakoa in the 1930s. Procured from the venerable city of Shanghai, this piece echoes the opulence and cultural richness of early 20th-century Chinese textile artistry. The runner, cut from the grand carpet, maintains the exquisite patterns and colorations that characterize Shanghai's traditional rug-making. The artful arrangement of motifs, harmonious color palette, and the meticulous hand-knotted craftsmanship underscore its exclusivity and heritage value. Note: See lot 28 and 30 for additional cuts
