This meticulously crafted silvered metal crab is a testament to the skill of mid-20th-century metalwork. With articulated limbs and a hinged shell that opens to reveal a storage compartment, this piece is both a striking decorative object and a whimsical conversation starter. The crab measures approximately six inches from pincer to pincer, with a textured carapace that showcases a variety of patinas, suggesting both age and artful creation. The attention to detail is evident in the precision of the claws and legs, all rendered with a lifelike curvature and poised as if ready to scuttle across the sea floor.
