#15 • Frederic Remington Bronze Sculpture, Reproduction, "Coming Thru the Rye"

Part of 12/21 Wawae Rd (KAUAI) Collaborated Personal Property Auction (timed auction by Malama Auctions & Realty)

High bid $70.00

Status: Sold

This larger tabletop reproduction marble and bronze cast sculpture of Frederic Remington’s “Comin’ Thru the Rye” is intricately detailed and heavy. Set on a dark green marble base, the four horsemen ride and brandish their weapons with abandonment, all captured brilliantly by Remington in the texture and illusion of motion in the piece.  This sculpture was purchased at a fine art auction that intermittently traveled to Kauai in the 1980s and ‘90s. Lots of dust, and some loose reins, but in general the piece is in good vintage condition.
