Would you like a chunk of tea? Once used as a form of currency, tea was compressed and shaped into decorative scored bricks that were easy to transport and divide for trading or commerce. This tea brick features  five stars, a temple, and Chinese characters on the front and is scored into 16 rectangles on the back. Some disintegration of the corners has occurred over the years while with brick was on display (please see photos). It is not recommended that you consume the tea.
