These are sanitary Tri-Clamp (Tri-Clover–style) fittings and gaskets, commonly used on brewery, meadery, winery, and food-processing equipment. What you’re seeing: Black rings (top left area) → Tri-Clamp gaskets (likely EPDM or Buna-N). They sit between two stainless ferrules to create a sanitary seal. Stainless clamp rings with wing nuts (center & bottom) → Single-pin Tri-Clamps. These wrap around the ferrule lips and tighten down to compress the gasket. One clamp with a hex/eye-style fastener (top right) → A different clamp style (often used where a tool-tightened or tethered fastener is preferred). How they work together: Two Tri-Clamp ferrules are pressed together A gasket sits between them The clamp goes around the ferrule flange Tightening the wing nut creates a leak-free, sanitary connection Typical uses: Connecting valves, hoses, elbows, and tanks Fermenters, brite tanks, transfer lines Easy disassembly for cleaning and sanitation these are the fittings that would connect that 304 stainless ball valve to the rest of a sanitary system.
