High bid $150.00

Status: Sold

An elegant carved teak wood plant stand or garden stool, featuring intricate openwork panels and gracefully curved legs. The circular top is supported by a richly carved apron displaying traditional scrolling and pierced motifs, while the lower tier shelf incorporates additional decorative fretwork that adds both structural support and visual depth. The warm tone and tight grain of the teak highlight the natural beauty of the wood, a material prized for its durability, resistance to moisture, and long-standing use in high-quality furniture and decorative objects. Teak furniture has historically been favored throughout Southeast Asia and later widely exported for decorative and garden furnishings due to its strength and attractive grain. The design reflects elements commonly seen in Chinese and Southeast Asian decorative furniture, where carved openwork panels and curved legs were used in stands intended to elevate porcelain fishbowls, planters, sculptures, or decorative objects.
