A striking Chinese porcelain umbrella stand or tall floor vase, decorated with bold cobalt blue lotus leaves and blossoms accented by a contrasting coral-red lotus flower near the rim. The design is rendered in a traditional Chinese style with flowing brushwork that creates depth and movement across the surface. The tall cylindrical form with flared rim is characteristic of vessels produced for use as umbrella stands, floor vases, or decorative hall pieces, making them popular accents in entryways and living spaces. The lotus motif is a significant symbol in Chinese decorative arts, representing purity, harmony, and spiritual renewal due to the flower’s ability to rise clean from muddy waters. The vibrant cobalt decoration against the pale celadon-toned ground reflects traditional porcelain painting techniques commonly seen in export ceramics inspired by classical Chinese designs.
