Status: Sold

A charming European coastal landscape print titled “Baie de Menton” (Bay of Menton), depicting a peaceful seaside view framed by windswept Mediterranean trees overlooking a calm blue bay. In the distance, the town of Menton sits along the shoreline beneath softly rising mountains, capturing the warm atmosphere typical of the French Riviera. The artwork is credited in the margin to A. Marc, and is part of Serie 1035, No. 3, published by Stehli Frères S.A., Zurich, a well-known Swiss publisher of fine art reproductions during the early to mid-20th century. The print is marked “Printed in Switzerland / Imprimé en Suisse,” reflecting the high-quality lithographic printing associated with Swiss art publishers of the period. Menton, located along the Mediterranean near the Italian border, has long been a favorite subject for artists due to its dramatic coastline, mild climate, and picturesque harbor views, making scenes such as this popular decorative prints throughout Europe. The piece is presented in a wood frame under glass with matting. The glass and print would benefit from minor adjustment within the frame, as noted.
