#50 • Italian Inlaid Wooden Music Box

Part of 03/22/26 Antique Treasures & Vintage Collectibles Kalaheo (Kauai) Part 1 Auction (timed auction by Malama Auctions & Realty)

High bid $14.00

Status: Sold

Vintage Italian-made music box housed in a decorative wooden case featuring a floral inlaid design on the lid. The box opens to reveal a red velvet-lined interior, providing a striking contrast to the warm wood tones of the exterior. The piece operates with a traditional key-wind mechanical music movement, with the winding key located on the underside of the box. When wound, the internal mechanism plays music while the lid is open. The bottom is marked “Made in Italy.” Music boxes of this style were commonly produced in Italy as decorative keepsake pieces and gift items, appreciated for their classic craftsmanship, elegant marquetry lid design, and mechanical music movement. Reported to be in working condition.
