Part of 03/22/26 Antique Treasures & Vintage Collectibles Kalaheo (Kauai) Part 1 Auction (timed auction by Malama Auctions & Realty)

High bid $56.00

Status: Sold

Vintage Thorens disc music box housed in a wooden case, featuring the classic Swiss-made automatic disc musical movement. The music box includes a metal music disc labeled “Sweet Adeline” (K1424) and retains the original Thorens instruction sheet for operation of the automatic disc music works. Thorens of Switzerland is well known for producing high-quality mechanical music devices and precision movements. This example uses the traditional interchangeable disc system, where a perforated metal disc rotates across the comb to produce the melody. The mechanism is visible inside the wooden case, with manual controls and winding key system as shown in the instruction diagram. Mechanism does not play consistently and will require repair or adjustment. Ideal for collectors, restoration, or display.
