Antique Blickensderfer No. 8 typewriter manufactured in Stamford, Connecticut, U.S.A., an early and innovative writing machine known for its distinctive engineering and compact design. The machine features the iconic diamond-shaped “Blickensderfer 8” nameplate prominently displayed on the front housing. This model represents an important chapter in the history of typewriter development, as Blickensderfer machines were known for their interchangeable typewheel system and simplified mechanical layout compared to many contemporary machines of the era. The typewriter features round glass-topped keys with gold lettering, including alphabetic keys and punctuation marks, mounted on slender metal arms that create the recognizable vintage keyboard layout. On the left side are the numbered selector keys, used for changing the character settings on the machine’s internal typewheel.
