Bumble Bee Jasper Ring Size 7. 925 Sterling Silver  Total weight 9.7g Trade name for colorful fibrous calcite found at Mount Papandayan, West Java, Indonesia. The material is made of radially grown fibrous calcite with a distinctive yellow, orange, and black banding. The orange and yellow colors are mainly caused by finely dispersed realgar (XRD analysis, Attard and Petrov, 2017; Raman analysis, Fritsch and Ivey, 2015). The black stain is caused by pyrite (EDS analysis, Fritsch and Ivey, 2015). Note: Bumblebee "Jasper" is a misnomer, as this material contains no quartz at all (while actual jasper is a variety of chalcedony, which itself is more or less a "microcrystalline quartz").
